God is One in Being or essence, Three in Person. The term Trinity, while not appearing in the Bible, summarises the biblical evidence. Christianity holds to Trinitarian Monotheism.

NT refers to baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19). The grace of Jesus, love of God and communion of the Holy Spirit (2 Cor. 13:13). Same Spirit, same Lord, same God (1 Cor. 12:4–8). One Spirit, one Lord, one God and Father (Eph. 4:4–6).

Lying to the Holy Spirit is the same as lying to God (Acts 5:3–4). When the Spirit speaks, God speaks (2 Sam. 23:2), yet God sends the Spirit (Is. 63:10–12).

Jesus, Paul, Matthew, Mark, Luke, Peter, John and Jude apply passages concerning YHWH to Jesus (1).

God, the LORD or YHWH, is One in the Shema (Deut. 6:4–9). Echad or one is also used to describe husband and wife becoming one flesh (Gen. 2:24) or one cluster of grapes (Num. 13:23). By contrast, yachid does not allow for compound unity but only absolute singularity.

Paul expands the Shema to include Jesus as the one Lord (1 Cor. 8:6) even though God, the Lord, is One (Deut. 6:4–9) and there is one God, the Father (1 Cor. 8:6).

YHWH is sent by YHWH (Zech. 2:10–11; Gen. 19:24). God, the first and the last, who laid the foundation of the earth, is sent by God and his Spirit (Is. 48:11–16).
